The Gathering
Builders and early-stage startups demo what they actually made this year, in person, to anyone who walks in. The widest point of the funnel — and the first touch for people who didn't know Calgary had a scene.

something wild has been brewing in Calgary…

Nobody wakes up one day and decides to be a founder. Somewhere in that story is a night that made it feel possible.
Canada’s builders are real, but their stories are invisible. The demos happen in rooms of forty, on Friday nights, in scattered cities — and then they disappear. The work is good. Almost nobody outside the room ever sees it.
The Canon Event is the first time a year of that work gets projected in one place, with the people who made it standing next to it.

Doors open to the whole city, then narrow through the evening — from a floor anyone can walk into, to ten films on a screen, to a table of thirty.
NOV 2026 · CALGARY, AB

Builders and early-stage startups demo what they actually made this year, in person, to anyone who walks in. The widest point of the funnel — and the first touch for people who didn't know Calgary had a scene.

Ten short films on people who built something real this year. Not launch videos. Covered live by 100+ creators, with the winners funded to keep telling the story online.

We sit builders next to the person who can fund their next thing. Our team came out of Cursor (acq. SpaceX AI), Shopify, Y Combinator, ZayZoon and Cansbridge — that's who we pull from.
The city that built its name on energy is now the fastest-compounding startup room in the country — and almost nobody outside it has noticed.
Our team built three audiences of creators, builders and makers entirely out of Calgary: Ascend Calgary, The Archive Fund, So.Social and Cursor Meetups YYC. Two thousand builders have come through them, on Friday nights, in rooms of forty, with no audience beyond the people who showed up.
The Canon Event is what happens when that room finally gets a screen, a stage, and an audience the size of the thing it has quietly been building.
